We use the F-scan in-shoe and mat for both research and clinical purposes. We have found that the system provides excellent insight into the mechanism of action of our insoles. This information remains crucial to drive insole design and remove the trial and error our of issuing insoles to people at high risk of foot ulceration but without protective pain sensation. The equipment and medical consumables has proven an invaluable trouble shooting tool in those complex cases where offloading hasn’t been effective. Over the years I have called upon Josh and the teams customer service support centre to trouble shoot both user and system issues. The team are always available usually able to resolve problems remotely and in a timely manner with limited inconvenience to clinician or patient. They are always generous with their time and have on many occasions loaned kit to keep the clinic operational and prevent the need for cancellations.

I would not hesitate to recommend the system, medical consumables or the customer service support to clinicians looking to improve the insole provision offered to their patients particularly those living at risk of diabetic neuropathy.

At Writtle University College we have been clients of Biosense Medical Ltd. for several years, using their medical consumables, equipment and software for both human and animal biomechanics. We have acquired a range of systems from Biosense Medical, including Simi Motion analysis (Simi GmbH.), and Tekscan F-Scan, Saddle Mat (CONFORMat) and Pressure Walkway (Tekscan Inc.).

We use those for our undergraduate students (Sports Performance, Equine Sports Therapy, Animal Therapy, Canine Therapy and Veterinary Physiotherapy) and postgraduate students (Masters in Veterinary Physiotherapy) in practical lessons, assignments and for the data collection for their dissertations.

Having recently acquired F-Scan (in-shoe pressure measurement), our biomechanical analysis range has improved and the flexibility of the system allows us to measure not only in-foot pressure, but pressure under different pieces of equestrian/canine equipment. Furthermore, we have been using the Tekscan pressure walkway for gait analysis in human, horses, dogs, and sheep.

The students find the systems user friendly and useful. All the tools provided by Biosense Medical are excellent for education, enabling the students to understand the concepts of biomechanics. Furthermore, Biosense Medical is always supporting the University research in any way we need.
